29th EYN National Choir Convention 2025: A Weekend of Worship, Unity, and Divine Harmony
The 29th EYN National Choir Convention 2025 filled the Great Gospel House, Jalingo, with divine harmony and spiritual excitement from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th October 2025. It was a breathtaking display of faith, unity, and soul-lifting worship that many described as one of the most glorious conventions in the history of the Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) Choir Department.
The three-day event drew a massive congregation of choristers, pastors, and believers from all parts of Nigeria and neighboring Cameroon, all celebrating under the inspiring theme “Determined to Finish the Race” (2 Timothy 4:7).
Opening Ceremony: A Call to Unity and Obedience
The convention was officially declared open by EYN Vice President Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Rhoda Nuhu Abba. In his remarks, Rev. Abba described the gathering as “a testament to the unity and faith of God’s people,” urging choristers to remain steadfast and obedient in serving the Lord.
He expressed gratitude to Taraba State Governor Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas (PhD) (Rtd.), represented by Rev. Dr. Amb. Philip Filika Ndopa (JP), for his support through the Northern Christian Leaders Assembly. Rev. Abba also appreciated Pastor Elisha Joel and Prof. Elizabeth Sabo for making Great Gospel House available, describing their gesture as a true reflection of Christian unity beyond denominational walls.
Dedication of the 2026 EYN Choir Bible Study Outline
One of the major spiritual highlights of the 29th EYN National Choir Convention 2025 was the dedication of the upcoming 2026 EYN Choir Bible Study Outline titled “Obey to Prosper.” This symbolic act emphasized the importance of obedience as a pathway to divine prosperity.
Rev. Abba presented Awards of Excellence and Stewardship to past choir executives for their tireless service. The honorees were prayed for by Rev. Thomas Tizhe, who commended their faithfulness and devotion to God’s work.
Chairman’s Address: Growth Amidst Challenges
In his welcome address, EYN National Choir Chairman Mr. Samaila Chimiyu Mamza celebrated God’s faithfulness throughout the year. He reported remarkable spiritual growth, numerical increase, and expansion in various choir zones despite challenges such as insecurity and economic hardship.
“The unity, discipline, and resilience of our choristers reflect the unbreakable spirit of the EYN family,” he said with gratitude and pride.

Guest Preacher Rev. Mathew M. Yunana delivered a compelling message urging believers to finish the Christian race with endurance and faith. Guest Teacher Rev. Titus Y. Sonaba of ECWA Taraba DCC spoke on “The Generation Without Christ,” warning that no one can truly succeed spiritually without a living relationship with Jesus.

Adding color and honor to the gathering, His Excellency Rev. Jolly Tavoro Nyame, former Governor of Taraba State, attended as Father of the Day. Representing Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Rev. Nyame commended the EYN Choir Department for hosting such a life-changing event in Jalingo.
His goodwill message emphasized Christian unity and national cooperation within the body of Christ — further strengthening the purpose and legacy of the 29th EYN National Choir Convention 2025.
Choir Concert: The Heartbeat of the Convention
The convention climaxed with a glorious Choir Concert Night, a magnificent celebration of faith through music, culture, and praise. Each zone presented spirit-filled performances — their harmonized voices and colorful uniforms creating a heavenly atmosphere of worship.
Traditional renditions by Hildi Zone (in Kilba dialect) and Jalingo Zone (in Jukun dialect) added cultural richness to the evening, showcasing the beauty of unity in diversity.
