Jubilation in Bura Land as 53-Year-Old EYN LCB Grim Attains LCC Status.
Bura Land was filled with overwhelming joy and celebration on 16th November 2025 as the historic EYN Local Church Branch (LCB) Grim—founded 53 years ago—officially attained the status of a Local Church Council (LCC). This remarkable achievement marked a new chapter in the spiritual, administrative, and communal life of the church, drawing members, well-wishers, and dignitaries from within and beyond the community.

For more than five decades, EYN LCB Grim had served faithfully as a vibrant center of worship, evangelism, and community growth. Its elevation to LCC status brought a sense of fulfillment and excitement to the congregation, many of whom described the moment as a milestone ordained by God and achieved through unity, sacrifice, and perseverance.
The event was honored and officially presided over by the President of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, Ph.D., whose presence added prestige to the ceremony. In his address, Rev. Mbaya congratulated the church for its dedication and progress but reminded them that autonomy comes with greater responsibility. He emphasized that becoming an LCC was not merely a change of name or title, but a call to higher commitment and adherence to the doctrines, administrative guidelines, and policies of the EYN Church.

He challenged the congregation to stand strong in faith, remain disciplined, and continue upholding the values that had guided the church through its 53 years of existence. “Attaining the status of LCC is not only to bear the name,” he cautioned, “but to faithfully adhere to its functions, responsibilities, and the ability required to sustain the spiritual and administrative standards of the church.” His words resonated deeply with the congregation, reminding them that the new position demanded unity, accountability, and spiritual maturity.
The program also featured a powerful and uplifting sermon delivered by Rev. Amb. Musa L. Timta, who spoke passionately on the theme of growth, stewardship, and the importance of spiritual resilience. His message encouraged the newly elevated LCC to remain strong in prayer, evangelism, and service—not only within the church walls but also across the wider community. He reminded the members that leadership in God’s house requires humility, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the gospel.
The ceremony was filled with songs of praise, thanksgiving, and emotional testimonies from elders and members who had witnessed the church’s journey from its early beginnings to its present glory. Many expressed gratitude to God for sustaining the church through challenges and guiding it toward advancement. Choir renditions, scripture readings, and special presentations further enriched the joyful atmosphere.
Representatives from neighboring churches, district leaders, and community elders delivered goodwill messages, praising the resilience of the Grim congregation and acknowledging the positive impact the church had made over the years.
As the celebration continued, members reflected on the significance of attaining LCC status. For many, it symbolized maturity, growth, and a readiness to take on broader responsibilities in administration, evangelism, mission outreach, and discipleship. The autonomy granted to the church provides more freedom to manage its affairs, implement developmental programs, and expand its spiritual influence within the region.
The event concluded with prayers of dedication, as the congregation, church leaders, and invited ministers committed the new LCC to the guidance of God. The resounding hope expressed by many was that EYN LCC Grim would shine as a model of integrity, unity, and spiritual excellence in Bura Land and beyond.
With hearts full of gratitude and determination, the members of EYN LCC Grim look ahead to a future filled with growth, deeper fellowship, and continued service to God and humanity. The celebration not only marked the elevation of a church but also reaffirmed the unwavering faith and communal spirit that have defined Grim for 53 years—and will continue to shape its journey in the years to come.
