The festive spirit filled EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, LCC Maiduguri this Sunday as the congregation gathered for its annual Christmas Carol Service. More than a musical celebration, the event was a heartfelt call to “true worship” as members prepared for the birth of Christ.
A Sanctuary Transformed for Christmas Joy
Hosted by Reverend Waziri Usman Dibal, the sanctuary was beautifully decorated with traditional Christmas colors and vibrant balloons, creating an inviting and festive atmosphere. The congregation, young and old alike, raised their voices in joyous carols while the Scriptures were brought to life through storytelling.
Dynamic Performances and Special Guests
The stage came alive with performances from various church subgroups, each presenting a unique expression of worship. Adding to the richness of the celebration, a guest choir from COCIN LCC Saltumari delivered soul-stirring renditions that resonated deeply with attendees.
A Powerful Spiritual Message
The spiritual heartbeat of the evening was delivered by guest preacher Brother Wadzani Bello, who drew inspiration from Psalms 95:6–7 with the theme: “O Come, Let Us Worship and Adore Him.”
Bello reminded the congregation that worship is an act of reverence and acknowledgment of God, urging members to examine their inner motives, approach the Savior with a prepared mind, and truly “bow” in spirit to the newborn King.
He highlighted the courage of the Hebrew men in the Book of Daniel, emphasizing the importance of faithfulness and integrity, and reassured the congregation of God’s care: “You are the flock under His care.” This message was especially meaningful for the Maiduguri community.
A Christmas Season of True Worship
As the final carols faded, the service concluded not just as a musical event, but as a spiritual reset. For members of EYN LCC Maiduguri, the Christmas season officially began—marked not by worldly noise, but by a renewed commitment to worship Christ wholeheartedly amidst the joy, beauty, and hope of the season.
