DCC Jos – Sunday, 18th May 2025, marked a significant and emotional day in the life of DCC Jos, as members gathered in a joyful send-off thanksgiving service in honor of Rev. Bitrus Bulus. The event was not only a moment of deep spiritual reflection but also a heartwarming expression of gratitude for the years of dedicated pastoral service rendered by Rev. Bulus to the church, the DCC, and the body of Christ at large.

Reverend Bulus, who served as the Secretary of EYN DCC Jos, has become widely known for his humility, leadership, and commitment to the work of the ministry. His cordial relationship with church leadership, members, and fellow ministers left a mark of unity and mutual respect throughout his tenure. As he prepares to take up a new pastoral assignment elsewhere, the church deemed it fitting to honor him with a joyful thanksgiving service to celebrate God’s faithfulness in his life and ministry.
The atmosphere at the EYN LCC Jos was filled with jubilation and heartfelt appreciation as members, family, friends, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate a man whose leadership impacted many. Choir groups and song ministers from different units within the DCC led powerful renditions in song ministration, creating an atmosphere of worship and thanksgiving.
The guest preacher at the event, Rev. Samiala Athiyawa of the Brethren Discipleship Center, Jos, delivered an inspiring sermon centered on the theme of gratitude. He emphasized the biblical importance of thanksgiving and challenged the congregation to develop a heart that always returns to thank God. He particularly encouraged Rev. Bulus to remain steadfast in his calling and continue his faithful service to God wherever he is sent.
Rev. Samiala also spoke passionately about cheerful giving, stating that thanksgiving is incomplete without giving back to God. “God loves a cheerful giver,” he reminded the congregation, adding that giving from a sincere heart is one of the greatest expressions of gratitude.
Goodwill messages flowed from various church leaders, family members, and associates who praised Rev. Bulus for his excellent spirit, approachability, and wisdom. They recalled his role in fostering peace and unity within the church and acknowledged the positive influence he had on church operations through his role as DCC Secretary.
One of the highlights of the service was the outpouring of testimonies from members and leaders who shared personal encounters and moments that revealed Rev. Bulus’ compassionate and Christ-like leadership style. His tenure was described as one filled with progress, encouragement, and prayerful guidance.
Speaking in response, Rev. Bitrus Bulus gave an emotional yet joyful appreciation speech. He thanked God for sustaining him throughout his years at EYN LCC Jos and the wider DCC.
