Grief has once again enveloped the Zidda 2 community in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State following another deadly attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, who brutally killed two EYN Members, a father and his son late Thursday night.

According to reports from the community, the attackers invaded Zidda 2 at about 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, unleashing violence that claimed the lives of Mr. Kofe Digai and his son,  Ezekiel Kofe.

The tragic killing has left the community in deep sorrow, as families continue to endure repeated attacks that have claimed innocent lives and destroyed livelihoods over the years. Residents described the incident as heartbreaking, with many calling for urgent intervention to prevent further bloodshed.

The leadership of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) has strongly condemned the attack, describing the murder of the father and son as a cruel, senseless, and inhumane act.

The Church expressed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the entire Zidda 2 community, praying that God grants comfort and strength to all those mourning this painful loss.

EYN also called on the Federal Government, Adamawa State Government, and all security agencies to intensify efforts to protect vulnerable communities. The Church urged security forces to become more proactive by strengthening intelligence gathering, increasing patrols, and responding swiftly to threats before lives are lost.

“The continued attacks on innocent communities are unacceptable. Every Nigerian deserves to live without fear. We urge the authorities to take decisive and proactive measures to end these recurring assaults and bring the perpetrators to justice,” the Church stated.
