In yet another act of terror, Boko Haram insurgents attacked the Shikarkir community in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State yesterday on January 13, 2025.
The attack, which occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m., marked the third assault in the area within the first two weeks of the new year, leaving a trail of destruction and displacing numerous residents
This incident follows closely on the heels of the attack on Njilang community on 2, January 2025 and Bamzir community on 12 January, 2025.
Just two days ago the EYN President Rev. Daniel Y. C Mbaya, PhD has expressed deep concern over the continued targeting of vulnerable communities and urge the Federal and state government to take immediate action.

The assailants reportedly razed the EYN C LCC Shikarkir Church auditorium, Pastors residence containing 8 rooms, Zumuntan Matan Ekklesiya (ZME) store, several homes, shops, and two tricycles (Carry-Go) belonging to residents. Although no casualties have been confirmed as of press time, the community has been thrown into turmoil by the scale of the devastation.
The attack has forced many residents, primarily members of the EYN church, to flee from their communities (Njilang, Bamzir, Shikarkir, and Tsatla) to seek for refuge in Mbalala, Chibok town, and Askira for safety.
