Boko Haram Destroys Properties and EYN Church in Debiro, Borno

Debiro community under DCC Kwajaffa in Hawul Local Government Area, Borno State, was hit by a violent attack from suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Sunday, February 15, 2026, around 2:00 p.m.

During the attack, several houses and properties were destroyed, including the EYN LCC Debiro Church building, leaving the community in shock and distress. Eyewitnesses said no lives were lost, but residents fled immediately to seek safety in neighboring communities such as Biu.

This latest incident is part of a troubling pattern as attacks in rural Borno communities are resurfacing after a period of relative calm, reigniting fear among residents. Community leaders have called on security agencies to intensify protection for vulnerable villages and assist displaced families in returning home safely.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement, but the destruction of both homes and the local church highlights the urgent need for reinforced security measures in the region.
