EYN Leadership Attends Burial Ceremony of Late Monica Bitrus Jatau

The EYN Leadership attended the funeral service of the late Monica Bitrus Jatau on May 14, 2025, at EYN Kirya in Mubi North Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

Monica B. Jatau, born on July 24, 1958, passed away on May 9, 2025, at the age of 67. The funeral service was led by Rev. Eli Samuel, Secretary to the EYN Ministers Council.  Rev. James K. Musa, EYN General Secretary, welcomed those in attendance and appreciated the ministers and their wives for their support.

EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, delivered a message of comfort to the family of the late Monica and Rev. Bitrus Jatau. He encouraged the congregation to place their trust in Jesus, saying, “Our words alone cannot comfort you. We will always remember you in our prayers. Whenever the need arises, don’t hesitate to call on us.” He also prayed for peace in Nigeria and declared a blessing over the people.

Former EYN Vice President, Rev. Anthony A. Ndamsai, read the biography of the late Mama Monica, while Rev. Ayuba Bugi preached a sermon based on Job 14:5 and Hebrews 9:27. Prayers were also offered by Rev. Evang. Musa D. Mbaya, and a song was presented by the children of the deceased.

The late Monica B. Jatau was known for her dedication to ministry alongside her husband, Rev. Bitrus Jatau. She studied at Kulp Bible College and the Church of the Brethren’s Christian Community Ministry (CCM) program. She is survived by eight of her ten children, 32 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She is remembered for her hard work and peaceful legacy.
