Chibok Bible College Holds First Matriculation as Institution Transitions from Bible School
The Chibok Bible College matriculation ceremony was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, marking a historic milestone as the institution formally admitted its pioneer students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The event, which took place at the college premises in Chibok, also marked the official transition of the institution from Chibok Bible School (CBS) to Chibok Bible College (CBC), signifying a new phase in strengthening theological education and ministerial training.

In his welcome address, the Principal of the college, Rev. Ishaya Karaka, warmly received guests and participants who gathered to witness the historic occasion. He explained that the ceremony was organized to formally matriculate the newly admitted students and to celebrate the formal takeoff of the college.
Rev. Karaka expressed appreciation to all stakeholders and supporters whose commitment and contributions made the establishment and development of the college possible.
Guest Preacher Stresses Effective Theological Education
The Guest Preacher, Rev. Charles Dauda, represented the Commander of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General A. O. Adejero, who was unavoidably absent due to operational engagements.
Rev. Dauda conveyed the Commander’s greetings and appreciation to the leadership of the college for considering him worthy to be part of the historic event.
Preaching from 2 Timothy 2:15, he delivered a message titled “Effective Theological Education in Propagating the Gospel.” He emphasized that sound theological education is crucial in preparing ministers who will faithfully proclaim the Gospel and provide strong leadership within the church.
EYN Education Director Encourages Pioneer Students
Also present at the ceremony were the Director of Education of EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, Rev. Daniel I. Yumuna, and his Deputy, Mr. Zakariya Musa.
In his remarks, Rev. Yumuna congratulated the matriculating students and encouraged them to remain dedicated to their academic and spiritual formation, reminding them that they carry the responsibility of being the first set of students of the college.
He also commended the staff and board members of the institution for their dedication and commitment to the growth of theological education.
Rev. Yumuna further encouraged lecturers serving in Bible colleges not to see their postings as a punishment but as a special calling to shape the lives and ministry of future church leaders.
College Faces Development Challenges
While celebrating the historic milestone, the Principal also highlighted several challenges currently facing the college. These include the poor road network leading to the institution, the need for additional classrooms, and the construction of a perimeter fence to improve security and infrastructure.
The historical background of the institution was presented by Mrs. Asabe Moses, a former Chairperson of the college board during the period when the institution operated as Chibok Bible School (CBS).
The event concluded with praise and thanksgiving as participants celebrated the successful inauguration of the college and the matriculation of its first cohort of students.
