EYN Spiritual Adviser, Rev. Ezra Dawui, leads the autonomy ceremony as LCB Kura steps into a new chapter of faith, leadership, and growth.
The Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) Local Church Branch (LCB Kura) has officially celebrated its long-awaited church autonomy, marking a major spiritual and administrative milestone in its journey of faith. Established in 1964 under EYN Local Church Council (LCC) Yambule, in DCC Bazza, Jigalambu Ward of Dakwa District, Michika Local Government Area, Adamawa State, the church began humbly with only 15 founding members.

Representing the EYN President, Rev. Ezra Dawui, the EYN Spiritual Adviser, officiated the historic church autonomy ceremony, while the President simultaneously presided over other autonomy events at DCC Kidang and two LCCs in Marama. Rev. Dawui was accompanied by a distinguished delegation from the EYN Headquarters, including Rev. Amb. Luka M. Timta, EYN Administrative Secretary; Rev. Eli Samuel, Secretary to the Ministers Council; Rev. Daniel I. Yumuna, Director of Education; Rev. John W. Zamboa, Director of Audit and Documentation; and Mr. Yakubu Peter, Director of Integrated Community-Based Development Program (ICBDP).

The joyous celebration was filled with vibrant worship, songs of praise, and deep gratitude to God Almighty. Various church subgroups joined the congregation in thanksgiving, with the choir presenting a soul-lifting song titled “Na Kudurta in Kammala Tseren”, and KB performing “We Give Thanks to God for Having LCC Kura.” The ZME group also inspired worshippers with their rendition of “We Will Never Give Up,” expressing the church’s renewed commitment to faith and perseverance.

Delivering the sermon drawn from Galatians 5:1, Rev. Daniel I. Yumuna urged the church to stand firm in the freedom that Christ has given, warning against distractions that could hinder spiritual growth. He emphasized peace, faithfulness, and unity as the foundation for sustaining church autonomy, declaring, “For a church to succeed, it must be faithful in all things.”

The atmosphere was filled with emotion and thanksgiving as Rev. Eli Samuel led a heartfelt prayer of dedication, committing the newly autonomous LCC Kura to God’s continued guidance and protection.
