The DCC Jos 16th Annual Convention took place from February 27 to March 1, 2025, at EYN LCC Jos with the theme “Determined to Finish the Race” inspired by 2 Timothy 4:7.
The event commenced with an opening prayer led by Rev. Joseph T. Kwaha, followed by a spirit-filled corporate worship session by the DCC Youth Band. The DCC Chairman, Rev. Sunday Nshem, warmly welcomed DCC executives, pastors, their spouses, and all attendees, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support and commitment to the convention.

Guest preachers Rev. Dr. Nyampa T. Kwabe and Prof. Philip Asura Nggada emphasized the importance of faith and endurance as stated in James 1:1-12. They encouraged believers to remain steadfast in their faith despite challenges, trusting in God’s strength to overcome hardships. Rev. Dr. Nyampa T. Kwabe further stressed that “suffering produces perseverance” and that human strength alone is insufficient to endure trials—God’s help is essential in finishing the race of faith.
A corporate Bible study session was led by Evangelist Bithrus Shallangwa, focusing on the theme “Determined to Finish the Race.” The session was interactive, with members actively engaging by asking questions and receiving insightful responses. The convention was marked by spirit-filled moments as members attentively received the messages and expressed gratitude to God for another successful year of gathering.

One of the key highlights of the event was the election of new DCC executives Rev. Andrawus N. Mshellia, DCC Chairman, Rev. Fidelis Yarima, Assistant DCC Chairman, Bro. Zachariah Bwale, DCC Treasurer, Dr. Abel Manari, Minutes Clerk and Prof. Sunday Hena, NEC Delegate.
Rev. Sunday Nshem the outgoing DCC Chairman, delivered a goodwill message, urging members to stand firm in their faith and remain determined to finish the race. The convention also featured song ministrations by various subgroups, and offerings were received from different DCC church groups to support the mission of the church.
The 16th Annual DCC Jos Convention was a time of spiritual renewal, encouragement, and unity. As the newly elected executives take on their leadership roles, the congregation remains committed to persevering in faith and finishing the race set before them.
