DCC Watu Celebrates LCC Autonomy with Joyful Thanksgiving

October 26, 2025, EYN LCB Karatyahwe, under LCC Watu in DCC Watu, officially received LCC Autonomy after three years of existence. The entire DCC Watu community gathered at Karatyahwe Church Auditorium in joyful celebration, lifting songs of praise to God Almighty, making it one of the most memorable events in Watu’s history.

On the other wing, EYN LCB Gwandzang, under LCC Grisa DCC Bilatum, has also officially been granted LCC autonomy by the EYN Vice President, Rev. Nuhu M. Abba. To officiates the Autonomy the Vice President was accompanied by the EYN Administrative Secretary, Rev. Amb. Timta L. Musa; the KTS Provost, Rev. Prof. Dauda A. Gavva; and the EYN Director of Finance and Economic Development, Bro. Ayuba U. Balami.

In his address, Rev. Mbaya emphasized that church autonomy is not merely about receiving a certificate it represents spiritual maturity and a divine responsibility to be a light to the world. He encouraged the newly autonomous LCC to embrace reconciliation, live by the Holy Spirit, and uphold a godly lifestyle. He reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to defending Christianity in Nigeria and urged continued prayers for peace across the nation. Mrs. Hassana Habu delivered a sermon from Philippians 2:12–17, reminding the congregation to be obedient to God’s word in all things not merely performing for appearances. She urged the new LCC to prioritize God in every aspect of their ministry.

In a symbolic gesture of renewal and stewardship, the ceremony ended with a tree planting activity part of the Church’s quest for “Earth reclothing.” This act represented a new beginning for the new LCC and a commitment to nurturing both spiritual and environmental growth.

EYN LCB Karatyahwe was established on March 5, 2023, and has now reached its third year of existence. Over this period, the church has grown steadily and now comprises 10 vibrant subgroups including Zumuntan Maza (Men’s Fellowship), Zumuntan Mata (Women’s Fellowship), Choir, Kungiyan Bishara, Sisters Fellowship, Youth Fellowship, Girls Brigade, Nazari Littafi Mai Tsarki da Wakoki, Drama Group and Bada Haske.

At Karatyahwe DCC Watu the ceremony began with the singing of Hymnal SS&S 228, setting a sacred tone for the service. The event was graced by many esteemed EYN ministers, with the EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD officiate the Autonomy. Among the president’s entourage were Mrs. Rhoda Nuhu, wife of the EYN Vice President, John W. Zamboa, EYN Director of Audit and Compliance, Daniel I. Yumuna, EYN Director of Education, Evang. Musa Daniel Mbaya, EYN Director of Mission, Yakubu Peter, EYN Director of ICBDP and Hassana Habu, EYN Director of Women’s Ministry. The ceremony concluded with a powerful prayer session led by President Mbaya and the attending ministers
