The EYN, Directorate, Disaster Relief Management has launched a Three-years initiative to provide Educational Assistance to the most needy and orphaned children from volatile areas in Borno and Adamawa state.
Today, 30th of April, 2024, the Director of Disaster Relief Management, Rev. Yuguda Z. Mdurvwa, and the DDRM coordinator, Mrs. Rhoda Isa, were present at the Gulak axis, while the remaining team members were at the Chibok axis for distribution purposes.
The initiative, which commenced on Thursday April 25, 2024, aims to benefit 100 children by offering them financial aid of N100,000 naira each to assist with expenses such as school fees, uniforms, textbooks, and other educational materials. DDRM is working with DCC secretaries to identify the most needy children and ensure the assistance reaches those who need it most by disbursing the funds through her Departmental Staff.
This gesture is aimed at supporting children who have been affected by insurgency and violence in the region, providing them with access to quality education and a chance to rebuild their lives.
The communities targeted were Gulak, Wagga, Madagali, Mildu, Chibok, Mbalala, DCC Chibok- Balgi, Lassa and Yawa which were categorized as the most volatile DCCs in EYN
It is worthy of note that this program is a part of EYN’s broader efforts of providing humanitarian aid, trauma counseling, and livelihood support to communities affected by the decadent conflict in the region.
