A powerful windstorm swept through Mijili and Mbalwaha communities in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Nigeria, on May 11, 2024, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
The storm destroyed the EYN Dispensary at Mijili and  LCCN N02 Church, Mijili, with many houses and properties also affected. The nearby community of Mbalwaha was equally hit, with numerous houses damaged or destroyed.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed, but eyewitnesses report widespread devastation, with roofs torn off buildings, trees uprooted, and debris scattered everywhere.
The affected communities are in dire need of assistance, with many residents left homeless and without access to basic necessities. Authorities and relief organizations are urged to provide aid and support to those affected by this natural disaster.
Our thoughts are with the people of Mijili and Mbalwaha as they work to rebuild and recover from this devastating windstorm.
