Kwarhi, Nigeria – May 22, 2025
In a significant development that marks a new chapter in its operational growth and visionary leadership, the EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, has officially dedicated a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado for official use. The dedication ceremony took place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, immediately following the staff morning devotion at the EYN Headquarters in Kwarhi, Adamawa State.

The acquisition of the high-performance SUV represents a bold step in strengthening the administrative and logistical capacity of the Church as it continues to expand and modernize its operations.
A Symbol of Growth and Commitment
Leading the dedication ceremony, EYN Vice President Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba highlighted the vehicle’s symbolic and functional importance to the Church. “This vehicle is more than just transportation,” Rev. Abba said. “It is an indication of growth and a reflection of the commitment of the Church leadership to ensure that EYN is evolving to meet the demands of today’s world.”
He emphasized the need for all staff to be responsible stewards, underlining that such investments must be handled with utmost care and accountability.

Leadership in Sacrifice and Vision
The event was attended by key leaders including the EYN President, Vice President, General Secretary, and other department directors. In a moving speech, EYN President Rev. Dr. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya described the purchase as an “act of sacrifice” by the leadership. He disclosed that many senior leaders had willingly forfeited some personal benefits to make the procurement possible, demonstrating their deep dedication to the Church’s long-term vision.
“We made this happen not because we had surplus, but because we believed it was necessary,” Rev. Mbaya said. “This is just the beginning. More developments will come, and we urge every staff member to be a good steward of what we already have.”
He also thanked Rev. James K. Musa, the General Secretary, and the entire National Standing Committee for their unified support in making the vision a reality.

Prayers, Worship, and Gratitude
The dedication ceremony was spiritually enriched with prayers and worship. Staff members lifted their voices in praise, singing from Hausa Hymnal number 29, expressing gratitude for the provision of the new vehicle. The song added a tone of reverence to the moment, reminding all that the work they do is first and foremost a service unto God.

Rev. James K. Musa, General Secretary of EYN, provided further context regarding the acquisition. He affirmed that the vehicle was purchased entirely through internally generated funds—an achievement made possible by the Church’s commitment to prudent financial management.
“I want to clarify for everyone here that we did not receive outside assistance to make this purchase,” Rev. Musa stated. “The funds came directly from the EYN account, and this is a testament to the financial discipline and stewardship of the current administration, particularly our President.”
He encouraged all departments within EYN to reflect this same level of stewardship and accountability in managing their respective resources.

Driving Towards the Future
The addition of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado marks a tangible move toward greater efficiency and accessibility for Church officials and operations. With the increasing demands placed on EYN’s outreach, administration, and community service programs, having reliable transportation is essential for effectiveness and growth.
This development is not just about a vehicle—it is a statement. It signals EYN’s readiness to embrace modernization while staying rooted in faith, service, and accountability. The dedication event stands as a proud moment in EYN’s journey, inspiring both current leaders and the next generation to dream bigger, serve better, and manage God’s resources with integrity.
