Pakka, July 7, 2025 — In a spirit-filled and historic service, LCB Pakka was officially granted autonomy and upgraded to a Local Church Council (LCC), marking a significant milestone in the growth of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN). The occasion was graced by the Acting President and General Secretary of EYN, Rev. James K. Musa, who stood in for the EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, currently attending the Annual Conference of the Church of the Brethren in the United States, held from July 3–6, 2025.

The journey of the church began on March 2, 2013, under the pioneering leadership of Rev. Dauda Titus, the then Resident Pastor of LCC Maiha, with just 30 committed members. Over a decade later, the growth and faithfulness of the congregation have resulted in this new status as an LCC.

Now under the leadership of Evang. Friday Solomon, the newly inaugurated LCC Pakka was charged with continuing the momentum of growth and evangelism. “Today you will have LCC. It is growth, but it also comes with responsibility,” said Rev. Musa. “LCC Pakka must move forward, multiply LCBs, and not go backward.”

Vision, Unity, and the Future of the Church
Rev. James K. Musa, who spoke on behalf of the EYN President, expressed gratitude to all EYN sons and daughters for their unwavering support during the administrative’ one-year term a. Reflecting on the past year, he remarked, “Many things we thought would be problems became smooth by the grace of God.”
He reiterated the church’s ongoing commitments including:
- The EYN University vision
- ₦1000 Project Account initiative
- Establishment of a Radio Station
- Mega Youth Convention plans
He emphasized that peace and unity require sacrifice, urging all members to protect the harmony of the church. “Support your pastors, pray for them, and pastors must use the pulpit to bless, not insult. That is how we move forward.”
Rev. Musa also called on EYN members to desist from insulting political leaders, instead encouraging them to bless those in authority and participate in politics to ensure godly representation.
The Church Belongs to Christ — Not Man

The sermon, delivered by Rev. Amb. Timta Luka Musa, focused on Matthew 16:15–20 under the theme “Ekklesiyar Almasihu: The Church of God.” He declared boldly, “The Church does not belong to the pastor, the committee, those who built the structure, or the community. It belongs to God.”
Rev. Amb. Timta reminded the congregation that Jesus is the Cornerstone of the Church and posed a challenging question: “Who is Christ to you?” He warned that Christ’s second coming is near and encouraged believers to live righteously to avoid condemnation.
He also denounced tribalism in the church, reminding members that everyone is a product of grace, and all believers must carry each other’s burdens. “God is counting on us to build His Kingdom here on earth,” he said.
He concluded by encouraging believers to remember that we will all give account of our lives and prayed that everyone would be among those who finish the race well.
