EYN Church Celebrates Retirement of Past Leaders

The EYN- Church of the Brethren in Nigeria bid a fond farewell to its immediate past , Rev. Joel S. Billi, former President and Rev. Anthony A. Ndamsai, former Vice President during a grand retirement ceremony held at the Church’s Headquarters, Saturday, 9 November, 2024.

“We are gathered here to honor and celebrate the incredible career of the Billi’s and the Ndamsai’s. They dedicated 34 years and 29 years, respectively, to the service of God through EYN. Their achievements have left indelible marks on all of us. Congratulations!”

Rev. Mbaya continued, “This morning, we come together to express our gratitude and share memories with you, wishing you a happy and successful retirement.”

Guest Preacher, His Grace, Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus, PhD, LCCN Archbishop, cautioned pastors against working against the Church’s growth. “We are one body,” he emphasized, citing Paul’s message to the Corinthian church. “Remember, we should only be loyalists of Christ, not divided by loyalty to individual leaders.”

Former President Rev. Joel S. Billi expressed gratitude to Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, describing him as “a true friend to EYN.” He also acknowledged the support of Rev. B. D. Hens, Rev. Audu Usman Wabulari, Rev. Musa Maina Askira, and the late Rev. Ibrahim Umaru. He appreciated the congregation for their participation, expressing that it was a true testament of love.

Former Vice President, Rev. Anthony A. Ndamsai appreciated the support of EYN pastors and members throughout their eight-year leadership. He described Rev. Billi as “a humble and courageous leader.”

The ceremony marked the end of an era, celebrating the retirees’ selfless service and dedication to the EYN Church. Other highlights of the occasion are songs ministration by Choir LCC Mararaba No 1, ZME KTS, Signing/presentation of retirement certificate, Presentation of gifts, special prayers for the family, goodwill messages and many others.
