The Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) has refuted a viral report published by Manari TV, a blogger based in Jos, claiming that the Late University of Jos (UNIJOS) student, Ibrahim Pilasar Mbaya, was the son of Rev. Daniel Y. C Mbaya, PhD, President of EYN.
The Church clarified that the late Ibrahim Plasar Mbaya was the son of one of the EYN Pastors Evang. Pilasar Mbaya who is curently working in Marama alongside his wife Mrs. Martha Pilasar who is also EYN Staff, not Rev. Daniel Y. C Mbaya, EYN President
EYN urged media organizations and social media users to verify information before publication, noting that inaccurate reports cause unnecessary confusion and add to the grief of affected families.
