The EYN congregation is in the state of mourning following the death of one of her pastors, Rev. Musa Y. Waba, who was laid to rest on April 24, 2024 in his home town, Betso.
Rev. Waba tragically passed away on April 21, 2024, following multiple fractures he sustained in a motorcycle accident, on his journey back home from the recently concluded 77th EYN Majalisa, held from April 16 to 19, 2024. Rev. Waba was a devoted servant of God, known for his fervor for spreading the gospel, his love for his congregation, and his dedication to sharing the word of God.
Prior to his passing, Late Rev. Waba served as the Pastor In Charge of LCC Dille No. 1. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rachael Musa Waba, and their children.
The funeral service, held at EYN LCC Betso, was attended by the EYN Vice President, Rev. Anthony A. Ndamsai, EYN General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Daniel Y.C Mbaya, Director DRM Rev. Yuguda Z. Mdurvwa, Director of Finance, Bro. Ayuba U. Balami, Director of Education, Rev. Daniel I. Yumuna, Pastoral Enhancement Ministry Coordinator, Rev. John Musa, family members and numerous sympathizers.
EYN President Rev. Joel S. Billi, on behalf of the entire EYN church, conveyed condolences to the deceased’s family and prayed for God’s comfort and strength during this challenging period. He emphasized the sudden and painful nature of Rev. Musa’s passing, urging all to be prepared to meet the Lord as written in the Bible. Rev. Billi expressed particular concern for the members in Dille due to the area’s volatility adding that it was difficult for the transfer committee to shop for a pastor that will stay in volatile areas like Dille, while commending their resilience.
During the sermon delivered by Rev. John Musa, PEM Coordinator read from 1 Corinthians 15:50-58, encouraging pastors to remain steadfast in their service to the Lord, as He knows the hearts of all and he cannot be deceived. To the congregation, Rev. Musa emphasized the importance of following the teachings of Jesus Christ, highlighting the hope and victory over death that can be found in Him alone.
Rev. Musa Y. Waba will be dearly missed by those who knew him, yet his legacy will endure through the lives he influenced and the souls he led to Christ.
