EYN Commissions Technical Workshop, Creates Jobs for Youths in Kwarhi

The EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria has commissioned a modern technical workshop at its Headquarters in Kwarhi, Adamawa State, in a bold step toward institutional self-reliance and youth empowerment.

The workshop, inaugurated on February 12, 2026, is structured into four main departments: Carpentry, Welding and Fabrication, Automobile, and Electrical/Electronics — including phone repairs. The facility is expected to provide practical services while serving as a skills hub for young people.

Notably, all staff working in the workshop are graduates of the EYN Mason Technical School, reflecting the church’s commitment to not only training youths but also creating employment opportunities for them.

Speaking at the commissioning, the President, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, said the project is a major milestone in the church’s vision of self-reliance.

“This initiative shows that while EYN is working toward sustaining its institutions, it is equally focused on creating jobs and empowering our youths with practical skills for the future,” he said.

Also speaking, Evangelist Raph Kulp Alfred, Vice Chairman of Basel Mission, Germany, who witnessed the event, commended the Church’s Leadership for the forward-looking initiative and encouraged the church to remain committed to holistic growth.

The commissioning underscores the ongoing efforts to combine spiritual ministry with economic and social development, positioning the church as a driver of skills development and employment within its communities.
