CDD Organizes Capacity-Building Workshop for 14 CDO

The EYN Community Development Department (CDD) Holds Workshop 7-9th July 2025 for 14 Community Development Officers (CDOs). The workshop took place at Catholic Pastoral Center in Yola, Adamawa State. The CDOs are from the following stations: Hong, Lassa, Wandali, Shani, Yimirshika, Bilatum, Garkida, Gombi, Song, Girei, Mubi North, Mubi South, Uba, and Watu Station.

The EYN ICBDP Director, Mr. Yakubu Peter, in his remarks, charged the participants to be serious and pay attention to the workshop exercises so that they would acquire more knowledge to help them carry out their activities smoothly.

The CDD Head of Department, Mr. Emmanuel Daniel, welcomed all the participants to the workshop and urged them to take it as a privilege to acquire more knowledge and correct their mistakes in carrying out their activities in their various stations. Mr. Emmanuel Daniel asserted that the aim of the workshop is to equip all the CDOs with more knowledge so that they would be effective in their various stations.

Mr. Joseph Babale, a participant from Yimirshika Station, Hawul LGA, Borno State, said that the workshop had opened the CDOs’ eyes to community development, fundraising, and budgeting. He further asserted that the CDOs would go and step down the knowledge to the Community Development Committees (CDCs) in their various stations.

On the other hand, Mr. Musa Haruna from Hong Station said that the workshop had helped him enough to know how to carry out his community development plan effectively. The CDO from Bilatum Station, Mrs. Ladi James, said that the workshop had opened her eyes to know more about fundraising and budgeting. The CDO from Watu Station, Peace Stephen, asserted that the workshop had helped her understand more about the need assessment table. Mr. Lawrence Inuwa Kaigama from Gombi Station said that the workshop had helped him enough to know more about CDOs’ responsibilities in a particular station, especially the group presentation during the workshop, which had really enriched him with more insight into community development.

Bitrus Ali Mbaya, one of the participants from Wandali Station, on behalf of the participants, thanked and appreciated the effort of the EYN ICBDP and CDD Department for organizing this great workshop. He further said that this wonderful workshop would positively enhance the community development project.
