Easter Message 2026: EYN President Prays for Hope, and Victory for Nigeria

The President of EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, has delivered a powerful Easter Message 2026, calling on Christians across Nigeria and beyond to celebrate the victory of Jesus Christ over sin and death despite prevailing challenges.
In his message, the EYN President emphasized that Easter remains a season of unwavering hope, whether believers gather in worship, celebrate with family, or stand firm in faith amid threats and insecurity.
Easter Message 2026: A Celebration of Victory and Hope
“Christ is risen today,” he declared, noting that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate victory over sin and death.
According to him, the resurrection assures believers of new life, renewed strength, and eternal glory, reminding the faithful that their hope is alive because Christ lives.
“Because He lives, we have hope, new life, and the assurance of eternal glory.”
Declaration Over Nigeria, Families, and Lives
Delivering prophetic prayers, Rev. Mbaya declared that the power of the resurrection would bring transformation across lives, families, and the nation.
He prayed that:
- Hearts be filled with peace and joy
- Strength be renewed in difficult times
- Every “dead situation” come back to life
Quoting Gospel of John 5:25, he reaffirmed the promise of divine restoration:
“An hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.”

The EYN President also addressed the reality of insecurity and hardship, declaring divine protection over believers.

He further emphasized that just as the cross became empty and the tomb was found empty, believers would experience divine deliverance and preservation.

Drawing from the symbolism of the stone rolled away from Jesus’ tomb, Rev. Mbaya prayed for supernatural breakthroughs:
- Every obstacle causing stagnation to be removed
- Every limitation to give way to progress
- Every difficult situation to turn for good
“As the stone that covered the grave was rolled away, may every mountain keeping you stagnant be removed in Jesus’ name.”
