The newly completed facility, named in honour of former EYN President, Rev. Filibus K. Gwama, features twelve well-furnished rooms, including three VIP suites and nine standard single rooms. The project is designed to enhance accommodation for visiting clergy, guests, and members coming to the church headquarters.
The dedication ceremony was officiated by Rev. Don Fitzkee, Moderator of the Church of the Brethren in America, who is in Nigeria to attend the 79th Majalisa with his wife, Carolyn along side the Brethren Disaster Relief Ministry Coordinator, Bro. Roy Winter. In his remarks, he praised the leadership of EYN for what he described as a commendable and impactful achievement.
“Providing shelter for people is a vital act of serving God. This project is not just a building, but a ministry in itself,” he stated, urging the church to sustain such development efforts.
Speaking at the event, the EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, revealed that the site of the guest house was previously an unused space. He explained that the vision for the project emerged through deliberate planning and divine direction, culminating in its successful completion.
“What you see today is a product of vision, faith, and commitment. This place was empty, but God made it possible for us to build something meaningful for His people,” he said.
The dedication of the guest house represents another significant stride in EYN’s ongoing commitment to infrastructural development, aimed at improving hospitality and service delivery within the church community.
