A Spirit-Led Celebration
On Sunday, October 12, 2025, the Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) Local Church Branch (LCB) Biji Biji, under the District Church Council (DCC) Golontabal, was officially granted autonomy. The milestone occasion was marked with heartfelt celebrations, songs of praise, and thanksgiving to God Almighty by the entire Biji Biji community and members of DCC Golontabal.

Before the official declaration of autonomy, the EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, together with all attending ministers and their spouses, led a solemn prayer session. They interceded for the Biji Biji community, the entire EYN family, and Nigeria as a nation seeking God’s blessings, peace, and divine protection.

The autonomy ceremony drew a large gathering of EYN ministers and their spouses from across the district, as well as sons and daughters of Biji Biji who traveled from various parts of the country to witness the historic event. The service was led by Rev. Ibrahim Hrgwa, Secretary of DCC Golontabal.

Rev. John W. Zamboa, EYN Director of Audit and Compliance, delivered the sermon during the ceremony, drawing inspiration from Matthew 5:13–14. His message, titled “Church: The Hope of the World,” emphasized the Church’s vital role as a beacon of light and transformation in society.

A Brief History of EYN LCB Biji Biji
EYN LCB Biji Biji was founded on December 1, 1996, under the leadership of Evangelist Yunana Tarwashe. The pioneering church committee included Mr. Yunusa Galdi and Mr. Suleman Musa. During the inaugural service, worshippers sang Hausa Hymnal Number 152, and the sermon drew inspiration from Jeremiah 33:14–16 and Luke 21:25–33, centered on the theme “Komawar Dan Mutum” (The Return of the Son of Man).
Presidential Remarks and Vision
The autonomy ceremony was officiated by EYN President Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, who was accompanied by key members of the EYN National Standing Committee: Rev. John W. Zamboa, EYN Director of Audit and Compliance, Mr. Yakubu Peter EYN Director of ICBDP, and Mrs. Hasana Habu EYN Director of Women Ministry.

In his address, President Mbaya urged the congregation to remain vigilant and steadfast in their faith, placing their hope in Christ Jesus in all circumstances. He emphasized that autonomy is not merely a status but a call to greater responsibility spiritually, materially, and in the demonstration of love, kindness, and peace.

He further encouraged members to pursue reconciliation, live in harmony with others, and reflect the light of Christ in their daily lives. The President concluded by calling on all EYN members to continue praying and supporting the vision of establishing Brethren University, a long-term goal of the church.
Words of Gratitude
Rev. Madi Suleiman, Resident Pastor of EYN LCB Biji Biji, expressed deep gratitude to God for making the autonomy a reality despite numerous challenges. “I have nothing to say but I return all praise to God Almighty,” he declared. He also extended heartfelt thanks to the EYN leadership for their support and for granting Biji Biji its long-awaited autonomy.
