The congregation of EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria LCC Maiduguri joined other EYN churches across the country in celebrating the Annual National Choir Week, a vibrant event marked by inspiring worship, uplifting musical ministrations, and appreciation for dedicated choir leaders.

The celebration featured a series of powerful and spirit-filled songs rendered by the church choir, creating an atmosphere of praise and deep spiritual reflection. The service was further enriched by a special guest choir from Church of Christ in Nations Gwange, whose melodious ministrations added color and excitement to the occasion.
As part of the celebration, the choir honoured its former executives (EXCOs) in recognition of their dedication, commitment, and contributions to the growth and development of the choir over the years. The past leaders were presented with tokens of appreciation for the valuable services they rendered during their tenure.

Delivering the sermon during the special service, Rev. Yugudu Z. Mdurvwa spoke on the topic “Obey to Prosper,” drawing his message from Book of Deuteronomy 29:1–9 and Third Epistle of John 2–4.
In his message, he defined obedience as listening, following, and doing exactly what God asks of His people. He emphasized that true obedience requires absolute trust in God and total submission to His authority.
Rev. Mdurvwa further noted that many obstacles to obedience often begin with ignorance of God’s Word, urging believers to study the Scriptures diligently. He encouraged Christians to remain obedient to God in order to experience divine prosperity and blessings.
He also warned that disobedience can hinder or cut short the blessings of life, calling on believers to live lives fully committed to God’s instructions.
The event served as a moment of spiritual renewal, celebration of music ministry, and recognition of individuals who have contributed to the growth and strength of the choir in the church.
