On Friday 8, January, 2024, the leadership of the EYN – Church of the Brethren j. Nigeria, attended the burial ceremony of Mama Thlawur Thlawur Jabdi, mother of Rev. James T. Mamza, former Director of EYN ICBDP. The funeral service took place at EYN LCC No. 1 Lassa Askira Uba LGA, Borno State.
During the service, EYN President Rev. Daniel Y.C Mbaya PhD delivered a heartfelt goodwill message from John 14:1-3, emphasizing that Mama Thlawur’s life was worth celebrating.
Rev. Mbaya praised her as a good historian, having lived to be 96 years old and possessing valuable knowledge about the early mission work of EYN in Nigeria.
The President encouraged the congregation to remain heavenly-minded and prepared for their eventual home going. He also urged them to manage their resources wisely, especially during Nigeria’s current economic challenges. Rev. Mbaya concluded by declaring blessings upon the congregation and offering powerful prayers.
EYN Vice President Rev. Nuhu Muttah Abba also offered a prayer for the family of the deceased, providing comfort and support during their time of grief. The EYN leadership’s presence at the burial ceremony demonstrated their commitment to honoring the life and legacy of Mama Thlawur Thlawur Jabdi.
Rest on Mama in the bossom of the Lord Jesus Christ please. Comfort to the family and the Church from above and glory to God for the life she lived.
