DCC Gombi Celebrates 3 LCC Autonomy
The leadership of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) has officially concluded the 2025 Local Church Council (LCC) autonomy exercise with the autonomy of three additional LCCs under DCC Gombi organized by the EYN President Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD and one LCB at Ghwadza, in under LCC Himikiless, DCC Futu organized by the EYN Vice President, Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba.
This brings the total number of LCCs granted autonomy in the year to thirty-two (32) a remarkable achievement for the denomination despite the prevailing economic challenges in Nigeria.

The newly autonomous congregations include the EYN LCB Kundasum, under LCC Shenu, established on 10 October 2010, EYN LCB Kwada Pubal, under LCC Gabun established on 3 February 1991 and EYN LCB Bidim, under LCC Gabun, established on 4 April 2007.
The momentous ceremony took place on 23 November 2025 at EYN LCC Gabun, DCC Gombi, located in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Faith-Renewing Remarks by EYN President
Before the formal declaration of autonomy, the EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, delivered a deeply inspiring message that uplifted the faith of congregants and restored hope in Christ. His message emphasized perseverance, unity, and the unwavering faithfulness of God in sustaining the church.
President Mbaya expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for enabling the denomination to achieve 32 LCC autonomies in a single year, despite the hardships facing Nigerian citizens. He highlighted that church autonomy is both a blessing and a responsibility, stressing that newly autonomous churches must demonstrate maturity, accountability, and spiritual growth.
He urged congregants to live as true ambassadors of Christ, reminding them that their conduct must reflect the teachings of the Gospel in every aspect of life.

Charge to Community Leaders: “Lead with Integrity and Reject Corruption”
Addressing traditional rulers, district heads, and community leaders present at the event, President Mbaya called on them to embrace transparent and people-centered leadership. He warned against the influence of money and corruption, urging them to uphold justice, fairness, and moral integrity in their dealings.
He further appealed to the wider EYN family not to allow division or disunity to infiltrate the church, emphasizing that the strength of EYN lies in its unity and collective commitment to Christ.

“Participate Positively in Politics,” President Tells EYN Members
In a bold call to civic engagement, the EYN President encouraged sons and daughters of the church to actively and positively participate in Nigerian politics, stating that believers must serve as light and moral examples in governance.
He also reminded the church of the importance of supporting ongoing denominational projects such as:
- Brethren University,
- Brethren Radio, and
- Brethren Television.
He urged members to remain prayerful and committed to actualizing these transformative visions.
Appreciation for Pastors and Prayers for Gabun Community
President Mbaya commended churches across DCC Gombi for their dedication in caring for pastors serving in the area. He encouraged them to maintain this spirit of support, noting that strong pastoral care strengthens the entire church community.
The President concluded his address with prophetic prayers and blessings over the Gabun community and the entire nation of Nigeria, declaring God’s peace, unity, and prosperity upon the land.

Cultural and Musical Splendor
The autonomy ceremony was filled with joy, singing, and cultural expressions. Various groups led songs of praise, while the Lala and Ga’anda communities added color to the celebration with captivating cultural dances. Their performances enriched the ceremony and highlighted the beauty of unity in diversity within the EYN family.

Rev. Wada J. Zamboa Delivers Inspiring Sermon on Christlike Living
The sermon for the occasion was delivered by Rev. Wada J. Zamboa, the EYN Director of Audit and Compliance, who preached from 1 Corinthians 11:1. He urged believers to imitate Christ in all things, stressing that children and younger generations naturally follow the example set by adults.

“When we imitate Christ, even our children will copy from us,” he said.
He reminded the congregation that love is the true nature of Christ, and concluded by calling on all believers to embrace humility, faith, and genuine Christian character.
