A Boko Haram attack on EYN LCC Tarfa has plunged the church and its surrounding community into deep grief following a deadly assault that claimed four lives, including a serving church leader, and led to the destruction of homes.
The attack occurred yesterday between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., when insurgents invaded Tarfa Village in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State, burning residential houses and forcing residents to flee for safety. Among those killed was Pastor Evangelist Musa Umoru, the Resident Pastor of EYN LCC Tarfa, whose death has left a painful void in the church.
Church Leader Confirms Casualties and Destruction
Confirming the incident, Rev. Bitrus Usman Mbaya, DCC Secretary, Kwajaffa, said the Boko Haram attack on EYN LCC Tarfa resulted in the death of four persons and destruction of over 15 residential houses, leaving several families displaced and exposed.
He described the situation as devastating and noted that the affected community is in urgent need of prayers, protection, and humanitarian support.

The General Secretary expressed deep sorrow over the killing of Residence Pastor of EYN LCC Tarfa Pastor Evangelist Musa Umoru and other community members, noting that such attacks continue to inflict pain, displacement, and trauma on already vulnerable communities. He called on security agencies and relevant authorities to urgently intensify efforts to protect lives and property, particularly in rural communities across Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State.
He further assured the affected families and members of EYN LCC Tarfa, Tarfa Village, that the church stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time and will continue to advocate for peace, justice, and improved security for all citizens.
