The President of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, led a distinguished delegation to the Palace of His Royal Highness, Ptil Madagali, Dr. Ali Danburam, on a courtesy visit to express solidarity and raise important developmental concerns.
Speaking during the visit, Rev. Mbaya extended his greetings to the traditional leader and the Madagali chiefdom, saying:
“We are here today with gratitude to you for granting us the opportunity to pay you this courtesy call.”
He recalled the coronation of Dr. Danburam, describing it as a memorable and joyous occasion attended by EYN leadership.
“The mammoth crowd that gathered and the joyous mood displayed that day attested to the fact that you are the right person for this stool.”
The EYN President praised the monarch’s academic and leadership credentials, urging him to use his influence to strengthen community cohesion and local development:
“I call on you to please use everything within your powers to ensure this kingdom has come to stay. Charge your District Heads, Village and Ward Heads to ensure they take census of any inhabitant within their communities so that when they are strangers, they can easily be tracked.”
He made a special appeal concerning a land in Gulak historically owned by the church, which he revealed is being considered as one of the sites for the proposed EYN University.
“The land here at Gulak has spiritual as well as physical significance to EYN and people of Gulak… Kindly intervene on our behalf with your son, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to please direct those people not to touch our land.”
Rev. Mbaya emphasized EYN’s peaceful mission, adding
“We love our Governor and as a law-abiding Church — a Peace Church for that matter — we should be allowed to develop our land.”

In his response, Ptil Madagali, Dr. Ali Danburam, expressed heartfelt appreciation to EYN for their support during his coronation, noting the overwhelming love shown by EYN pastors and members in Gulak.
“All the pastors in Gulak showed me love, and the presence of EYN leadership at my coronation was deeply encouraging,” the monarch said.
He commended the church’s role in the advancement of education and healthcare in the region and assured the delegation of his willingness to support efforts that promote peace and development in Madagali and Adamawa State at large.
The visit concluded with warm and mutual expressions of goodwill, Accompanied by heartfelt prayers for the continued prosperity of the chiefdom.
Both parties emphasized the importance of unity and shared values, Reaffirming their commitment to ongoing cooperation between the traditional institution and the church.
