The EYN leadership, under the guidance of President Rev. Dr. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, has bid a heartfelt farewell to Rev. Vincent Alaku, a devoted preacher who passed away while actively serving the Lord.
The funeral Service was held at his hometown, Luvu, Karu LGA, Nasarawa state.

Rev. Mbaya, in his consoling address to the congregation, offered words of comfort and encouraged the family members to find solace in the belief of an afterlife for those who have departed in Christ. He emphasized that grieving the loss of a loved one does not signify a lack of faith in God’s redemptive power, but rather a demonstration of compassion towards the bereaved. While mourning, he urged everyone to refrain from making statements that disrespect the divine name.
“This marks the third unforeseen passing we have endured, starting with Rev. Emmanuel Kwajihe who collapsed and passed away after a prayer session, followed by Rev. Yakabu Dibal who returned from the farm only to be found lifeless, and now Rev.. Alaku. It is undeniably heart-wrenching to lose a cherished individual in such an abrupt manner. Should we weep? Yes. Is weeping a transgression? No. Are we questioning God’s promise of salvation? No. We weep because we have lost a brother, a friend, a colleague, a father, and a husband.”However, he continued, “Let us pray that God grants us the fortitude and the grace to refrain from uttering sacrilegious words that may offend Him.”
Rev. Mbaya urged everyone to exhibit love and solidarity towards the grieving family, stressing that “now is the time to stand firm and hold onto Jesus.”
During a sermon, Rev. Nuhu Adamu described Late Rev. Alaku as a hero who met his end while engaged in his greatest passion – serving God. He underscored the importance of leading a purposeful life and staying devoted to Christ, urging all to draw nearer to God in times of adversity.
The late clergyman will be remembered as a man of integrity, diligence, modesty, and affection. “If hard work had a name, it would be Alaku. If love had a name, it would be Alaku. If humility had a name, it would be Alaku.”
The burial ceremony was attended by members of the Moduganari community, EYN affiliates, and other well-wishers.
Other prominent EYN figures who graced the burial service at EYN LCC Luvu, alongside the President and his wife, Mrs. Abigail Daniel, included Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba, EYN Vice President; Rev. Amb.
