August 17, 2025, a significant chapter was written in the history of EYN Mazawa as the church was officially granted Local Church Council (LCC) autonomy. Established in 1989 under the leadership of Evangelist Ishaya Kwaji, EYN Mazawa has long operated as LCB under EYN LCC Kamburo, DCC Madagali.

The autonomy ceremony was held at the Mazawa Church premises in Madagali Local Government Area, Adamawa State. It was a momentous occasion marked by spiritual reflection, community celebration, and renewed commitment to the church’s mission.
In his address, the EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, called on the members of EYN Mazawa to embrace unity, love, and mutual care within the church. He urged the congregation to respect and support their pastor as a leader, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in all church activities.

Rev. Mbaya delivered a stirring message to the congregation, encouraging them to be good, respected, and prayerful individuals. He challenged them to embody true Christian values, reminding them that church growth comes with great responsibility. He also called on the Church Committee to uphold integrity in their duties and not to become a source of pain for the pastor, who serves as the spiritual leader of the church.

Addressing a recent setback, Rev. Mbaya spoke about the newly erected church auditorium that was destroyed by a windstorm. In response, he challenged the entire Mazawa community to plant more trees as a preventive measure and a symbol of resilience.
At the conclusion of his remarks, Rev. Mbaya, together with the EYN National Standing Committee, offered a powerful prayer for the congregation and the entire Mazawa community, invoking God’s blessings, healing, restoration, and peace.

The EYN Administrative Secretary, Rev. Amb. Luka M. Timta, delivered a sermon that highlighted the responsibilities of EYN Mazawa as a newly autonomous church. He urged members to love one another and to live in peace, reinforcing the spiritual foundation of the church’s growth.

The ceremony also honored the legacy of leadership within EYN LCC Mazawa, listing the names of past leaders from 1991 to date:
