MBALALA, Borno Nigeria – Tuesday, May 13, 2025 — The EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, paid a pastoral visit to the Mbalala Clinic today, offering words of encouragement and commending the clinic staff for their unwavering faithfulness and diligence in serving the community, despite working with very limited resources.
Rev. Dr. Mbaya was accompanied by a high-level delegation from EYN, including Rev. James K. Musa, EYN General Secretary; Rev. Eli Samuel, Secretary to the Ministers’ Council; Mrs. Hassana Habu, Director, Women Ministry; and Mrs. Rhoda Nuhu, wife of the EYN Vice President.

Addressing the clinic staff, the EYN President praised their resilience and dedication in the face of significant challenges. “Mbalala Clinic has become a source of comfort to this community,” he said. “Despite the dilapidated structures and other limitations, your commitment to delivering quality healthcare is evident. We are proud of your continued impact.”
President Mbaya added that while his administration has resolved not to make promises it cannot fulfill, there is hope for tangible support in the near future. “All things being equal, the Primary Health Care facility will soon begin to feel the impact of the EYN leadership in terms of development,” he said. He noted that the clinic is highly patronized by the local community due to its excellent services and the unwavering commitment of its staff

The officer in charge of the clinic, Mr. James Istifanus Aliyu, warmly received the EYN leadership and expressed deep appreciation for their visit and ongoing support. He extended particular thanks to Rev. Smith Usman, District Church Council (DCC) Secretary Mbalala, acknowledging his tireless efforts in ensuring the clinic remained operational during periods when it faced near-closure.
In a heartfelt appeal, Mr. James called for additional support to strengthen the clinic’s capacity. “We currently attend to about 6 to 7 patients daily,” he shared. “To meet the increasing needs of the community, we require additional wards, more medical equipment, a reliable water supply, and extra staff.”
The visit concluded with a prayer session and a renewed pledge by the EYN leadership to enhance support for its health facilities. The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery as a vital part of the church’s mission to serve and uplift vulnerable communities across the region.
