The Ministers’ Council of the EYN has elected Rev. Eli Samuel as its new Secretary. The election took place at the Ministers Annual Conference, where Rev. Samuel emerged as the winner with 355 votes out of a total of 824.

Rev. Samuel, who is the Residence Pastor of Song No.1, will serve as the Secretary of the Ministers’ Council for the next three years. He succeeds Rev. Bakar Lalai, who served in the position for seven years.

The electoral process was overseen by the Electoral Committee, which comprised prominent members of the EYN Board of Trustees. The committee members included Rev. Joshua Wakai, Rev. Mathew Abdullahi, Rev. Hon. Andrawus Gadzama, Rev. Thomas Tizhe, Rev. Filibus Gwama, and Rev. Ezra Dawui, who served as the EYN Spiritual Adviser.
Other contestants in the election included Rev. Yuguda Z. Mdurvwa, who received 211 votes, and Rev. Haruna Yaduma, who received 244 votes. A total of 14 votes were declared invalid.
Following his election, Rev. Samuel was sworn into office by the EYN President Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, who charged him to be a faithful steward and to embrace all members of the Ministers’ Council. The President encouraged Rev. Samuel to work tirelessly to promote unity, peace, and progress within the Council and the EYN as a whole.
Rev. Samuel’s election as the new Secretary of the Ministers’ Council is seen as a significant development in the EYN, and his leadership is expected to have a major impact on the Council’s work in the years to come.
