EYN Mourns a Virtuous Woman Mrs. Suzana Apagu in Gulak
The EYN- Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, mourns a virtuous woman, Mrs. Suzana Apagu, whose life of faith, humility, and service touched many hearts. A heartfelt funeral service was held on Thursday, September 15, 2025, at LCC Gulak, drawing family members, church leaders, and the Jiddel community to celebrate a woman remembered for her good works and godly character.

A Virtuous Woman Remembered
The Zumuntan Mata Ekklesiya (Women’s Fellowship) of Jiddel paid glowing tributes to the late Mrs. Suzana, describing her as “a virtuous woman who trained her children and touched many lives without showing discrimination in religion or tribe.”

She was known for empowering women through small-scale business training and community development. Her compassion and dedication left a lasting mark on those around her.
Mrs. Suzana, aged 53, passed away suddenly after completing part of her daily chores. She was later laid to rest at her husband’s hometown, Gulak, in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

A Sermon for the Living – Rev. Amb. Timta L. Musa
Delivering the sermon, Rev. Amb. Timta L. Musa, Administrative Secretary of EYN, reminded attendees that death is inevitable but has been conquered through Christ.
He said, “This sermon is for the living, not the dead. No one knows when or how they will die, but one thing is certain — Jesus Christ has defeated death.”
Rev. Musa emphasized the importance of living for Christ and modeling authentic Christianity. “When we were born, we received two gifts — life and death,” he explained. “Those who live only for this world set their minds on earthly things, but true believers fix their hearts on eternity. Let your Christianity be genuine, not fake.”

He urged pastors and members to lead lives worthy of imitation, saying, “Paul said, ‘Imitate me as I imitate Christ.’ Can we, as Christians, say the same today?”
EYN Leadership Comforts the Bereaved Family

In a show of unity and compassion, Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba, Vice President of EYN, delivered a comforting message to the grieving family, reading from Psalm 116:15. He encouraged Rev. Apagu Udzudumi and family members to remain strong in faith, despite their painful loss.
“This loss should not shake your faith. God alone gives true peace. Though no one can fill the vacuum left behind, with God all things will be made smooth,” he said.

Rev. Abba called the moment a “spiritual reawakening for believers”, reminding all that no one is above death. He also urged ministers to strengthen their relationships and support one another during moments of grief and harvest.
He added, “In this world of hardship and uncertainty, we must draw closer to one another. Only through love and fellowship can we find comfort in these trying times.”
