The EYN Education Department headed by Rev. Daniel I. Yumuna, Director of Education, has successfully concluded a three-day capacity-building workshop for teachers across all EYN Schools nationwide.

Held from November 18–22, 2025, at the EYN Headquarter, the workshop focused on equipping educators with improved skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and godly character formation.
With the theme “Strengthening Teaching Ministry in the Church: Excellence, Discipline, and Godly Example” (2 Timothy 2:15), the programme emphasized both professional competence and the spiritual responsibility of teachers serving in Christian education.
The workshop opened with a welcome address from the EYN Vice President, who represented the Church President. He encouraged the teachers using Proverbs 22:6, stressing the critical role educators play in shaping tomorrow’s leaders. He noted that today’s students will become doctors, professionals, and national decision-makers, depending on the foundation provided by their teachers.
Chairman of the EYN Education Board, Dr. Kwaji Tizhe Takwate, expressed gratitude to God, acknowledging Him as the source of wisdom and understanding. He extended appreciation to the EYN President, Vice President, General Secretary, and other leaders for their continuous moral, spiritual, and financial support toward strengthening the education sector. Dr. Takwate further explained that the workshop mirrors the EYN President’s commitment to revitalizing education and harmonizing EYN schools for greater impact.
Speaking from 2 Timothy 2:2, Dr. Takwate highlighted the importance of raising a chain of faithful teachers who will pass on knowledge to future generations. He urged participants to allow the workshop to renew their passion, deepen their discipline, and strengthen their dedication to the teaching ministry.
The training featured presentations on effective lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and the role of teachers as moral and spiritual examples. Participants expressed appreciation to the Education Board and EYN leadership for the love, support, and opportunity to grow in excellence. Many noted that the workshop would significantly enhance their competence, confidence, and commitment to the church’s educational mission.
The workshop stands as a strong demonstration of EYN’s resolve to educate the educator, build quality across its schools, and position Christian education as a force for excellence and national development.
