Stuttgart, Germany – September 15, 2025
The President of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN), Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD and the General Secretary, Rev. James K. Musa are currently on an official mission tour across Europe aimed at strengthening partnerships and broadening support for the church’s work in Nigeria.

In a message shared via WhatsApp, the General Secretary provided details of the visit, noting that the delegation began its journey in Switzerland. While there, they visited one of the oldest cathedrals in Basel, built around AD 1200, and worshipped with congregations in Liestal. In Liestal, the EYN leaders held meaningful engagements with church leaders who expressed appreciation for hearing firsthand accounts about Nigeria and the ministry of EYN.
The Swiss church leaders pledged to support EYN through Mission 21, particularly in the areas of peacebuilding, education, community development, humanitarian services, and care for widows and orphans.
Rev. Musa described the visit as “hectic but rewarding,” explaining that the mission is focused on sharing EYN’s story, highlighting its mission work, and responding to questions about Nigeria and the church’s challenges. “Their excitement at receiving firsthand information about Nigeria and EYN was very encouraging,” he said.
The delegation has since moved on to Germany, where today September 15)they are holding discussions in Stuttgart with the Base Mission German branch. This marks the beginning of a week of meetings and consultations across different German towns, designed to strengthen existing ties and explore new areas of partnership.
The General Secretary emphasized that this European mission reflects EYN’s commitment to global partnership in advancing peace, education, and holistic community development.
