Brethren Radio & Television on the Way
The EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, has taken a decisive step towards expanding its media presence with the official inauguration of the Brethren Television & Radio Establishment Committee. The ceremony, held on 7th August 2025 at the Presidential Wing of the EYN Headquarters, Kwarhi, was presided over by the EYN President, Rev. Dr. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, in the presence of members of the National Standing Committee.

In his speech, Rev. Dr. Mbaya underscored the importance of media in advancing both the church and the community. He noted that although this initiative is coming later than initially envisioned, it has become a pressing necessity. Acknowledging that the committee’s inauguration is taking place late in the second year of his tenure, he stressed its vital role, pointing out that other committees have already embraced the leadership’s call with zeal. He urged the newly inaugurated members to approach their task with the same commitment, expressing a sense of urgency by noting he already feels a year of his tenure has been lost.

In his remarks, the committee’s chairman, Hon. Joseph Tizhe Kwaji, thanked the EYN leadership for entrusting them with this responsibility. Describing the moment as a dream come true, he praised the visionary leadership of the President and his team, congratulating them for their achievements since assuming office.

Hon. Kwaji shared that he has been a product of the church from inception and is determined to give his best to ensure the committee’s success. He affirmed that the committee would work diligently to accomplish its mandate, noting that the church has historically been a driving force behind many community-based projects and has often served as a model for other churches and the wider community

The committee, approved by the National Standing Committee during her sitting on 7th May 2025, include Hon. Joseph Tizhe Kwaji (Chairman), Mrs. Hauwa Bata, Engr. Kwaji T. Kwaya, Bro. Jabani Amos Hamman, Mr. Wanna Joel Mbaya, the EYN General Secretary, Rev. James K. Musa, and the EYN Head of Media, Mr. Mbursa Jinatu serving as Committee’s Secretary.
Following the inauguration, the committee held a familiarization meeting where they developed concrete steps towards the establishment of the stations, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to delivering on their mandate.
