The EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, together with members of the EYN National Standing Committee (NSC), paid a condolence visit to Former EYN President, Rev. Joel S. Billi, following the passing of his brother, who was laid to rest yesterday at Hildi.
While staff of the EYN Headquarters were present at the burial to represent the church, the NSC members were attending the funeral service of Late Mrs. Esther Edison held at Pilefu on the same day.
During the condolence visit, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya shared words of comfort drawn from the Scriptures, emphasizing that true consolation comes only from the Word of God. He said:
“Our comfort is only from the Word of God. We must learn to show love not only in times of trouble, but at all times.”
The EYN President assured Rev. Billi and his family of the church’s continuous prayers and support, stressing that the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) stands with her members in both times of mourning and celebration, as clearly taught in the Bible.
The visit concluded with prayers for God’s peace, strength, and comfort upon the bereaved family.
