EYN DRM Intervein for Flood Victim at Garkida, Gombi LGA, Adamawa State
October 8, 2025 The leadership of the Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), in collaboration with its Department of Disaster and Relief Management (DRM), extended humanitarian assistance to 150 households in Garkida, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, following the devastating flood and windstorm that struck the community earlier this year.

Led by EYN President, Rev. Dr. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD the delegation visited the affected area to express solidarity and compassion for the victims. The gathering, which brought together both Christian and Muslim residents, was marked by a spirit of unity and shared resilience. In his address, Rev. Mbaya drew inspiration from Matthew 25:31, encouraging the community to uphold peace and harmony across religious lines.

Of the 150 households supported, 101 were Muslim and 49 were Christian. A total of ₦21,000,000 was disbursed, with each household receiving ₦140,000 to aid in recovery efforts. Rev. Mbaya also advised residents to consider environmental factors when constructing buildings, emphasizing the importance of safety and preparedness.

Garkida District Head, Alhaji Husaini Buba Tarfa, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the EYN leadership, noting that the gesture was unexpected and deeply appreciated. He commended the church for demonstrating love and compassion beyond religious boundaries.
Beneficiaries including Jummai Yakubu, Dada Danibus, Yusuf Baba, Musa Hamman, and Sunday Hassan spoke on behalf of the community, thanking EYN for its generous support. The event concluded with a powerful prayer led by Rev. Mbaya for the peace and protection of Garkida and the entire nation.
