EYN- Church of the Brethren, has provided relief materials to flood victims in DCC Watu, Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State.The relief efforts, led by the EYN’s Disaster Relief Management (DRM) department, targeted six communities affected by the floods, including Kuburshosho, Kuburshosho 1, Kudabulashafa, Thuri, Bidi, and Tsandza.

According to Rev. Bitrus Duwara, Director of DRM, the relief materials distributed included Maize, Rice, Oil, Salt, Maggi, Detergent, Blankets, Mosquito Nets, and Mats.
EYN President Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, who was present at the distribution, acknowledged the suffering of the people, who have been battling with Boko Haram and now face the challenges of flooding.
Rev. Mbaya also acknowledged the efforts of Kirk in Actie, Brethren in America and all EYN members a expressing gratitude for their support. He emphasized that the church cannot replace what has been lost, but the relief materials were a symbol of the church’s love and concern for its members.

“We are here to show our love and support for the affected communities,” Rev. Mbaya said. “We cannot replace what has been lost, but we want to assure you that we are with you in this difficult time.”
The EYN President urged the people not to blaspheme against God in times of trouble, but rather to remember Him and draw closer to Him. He also assured the people that the church would continue to pressure the government for intervention and support.
The relief efforts were carried out by a team from the EYN National Standing Committee members including Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, EYN President, Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba, EYN Vice President, Rev. James K. Musa, EYN General Secretary, Rev. Amb. Timta L. Musa, EYN Administrative Secretary, Rev. Lalai Bukar, Secretary to the Ministers Council, Rev. Bitrus Duwara, Director Disaster Relief Management, Rev. John Wada Zambia, Director Audit & Compliance, Mrs. Hassana Habu, Director Women Ministry.

The DRM team led by the, including Rev. Barka Dali, Deputy Director DRM, Mrs. Rhoda Isa, Coordinator, Mr. Zakariya Musa, Program Officer, and Mr. Sunday Husseini, Accountant, worked tirelessly to distribute the relief materials to the affected communities.
The EYN’s relief efforts are a testament to the church’s commitment to supporting its members in times of need. The church’s leadership and members are working together to provide relief and support to those affected by the floods, and to advocate for government intervention and support.
