As hundreds of evangelists prepare to embark on an international outreach to Cameroon, the Vice President of EYN- Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba, has urged them to go with unity and focus. Addressing the evangelists today, Wednesday 8, 2024, around 5:00 am at the EYN Headquarters Kwarhi, Rev. Abba emphasized the importance of removing doubt and being focused on their mission.
Drawing from Matthew 28, Rev. Abba reminded the evangelists that even after Jesus’ resurrection, some of his disciples doubted. He encouraged them to have faith and trust in Jesus’ promise to empower them to make disciples out of those who do not know him.
Rev. Abba stressed that the success of their mission depends on their unity, echoing the Director of Evangelism and Church Growth’s emphasis on being “of one mind.” He noted that preaching is not just about words, but also about attitude, and that the Church of the Brethren’s unique attitude should shine through in their outreach.
The Vice President concluded by charging the evangelists to let Jesus lead and to go with authority, promising that they will bring good news of their success. With these words of encouragement, the evangelists are set to embark on their international outreach with renewed passion and dedication.
In a separate news, during the EYN Headquarters staff morning in, the Vice President conveyed his enthusiasm for the Headquarters staff’s involvement in the outreach, he encouraged all staff at the devotion to find contentment in the blessings bestowed upon them by God. He emphasized the importance of distinguishing between needs and wants, and aligning their priorities accordingly to their scale of preference.
