The EYN Vice President, Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba, addressed the 5th Convention of the Kungiyan Nazarin Littafi Mai Tsarki da Wakoki, urging the youth to flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. He emphasized the importance of security consciousness in the face of increasing terrorism, kidnapping, and economic hardship in the country.
Rev. Abba declared the convention open at the Church’s National Headquarters, where Rev. Dr. Bayo Tella served as the Guest Preacher, and Mr. Yakubu Peter as the Guest Teacher on modern farming methods. The convention, held from June 6th-9th, 2024, had over 700 registered members.
National Chairman, Mr. Joshua Yakubu Wakawa, expressed gratitude for the success of the convention but lamented the lack of faithfulness in remitting funds to the national treasury and low patronage of group materials.
Participants praised the convention for its edifying teachings and decorum, with some commending the decision to limit attendance to baptized members.
“I am glad to participate in this convention because the teaching and preaching have been edifying” – Miss Josephine Barnabas, LCC Sabon Garin, DCC Hildi. “I am very pleased with the decorum at the conference. I commend the Kungiyan Nazari National Exco for their thought of limiting the Conference to only baptized members, as it reduced indiscipline” – Mr. Anaryu Dauda, LCC Lassa 1, DCC Lassa.
In his remarks, Mr. John Mark, National Secretary, Kungiyan Nazarin, said, “Looking at the economic hardship in the country, I am impressed with the turnout for the convention. So far, we have registered almost 700 members. We must start looking for ways of improving accommodations during conferences like this”
The convention’s theme, “Duk Wanda Yace Yana Rayuwa a Cikin sa, Dole ya yi Tafiya Kamar Yadda Yesu Ya Yi” (1 John 2:6), emphasized the importance of living a life worthy of Christ’s example.
