EYN Women Ministry Empowers Youth and Women Through Entrepreneurship Training in Adamawa State

EYN Women Ministry Equipping the next generation with practical skills, values, and vision to drive economic transformation and self-reliance.

In a bold initiative to strengthen economic empowerment in Northern Nigeria, the EYN Women Ministry has organized a transformative entrepreneurship training for women and youth. The workshop, held at the EYN Headquarters in Kwarhi, Hong LGA, Adamawa State, brought together participants aged 18 to 35 from the ministry’s Skills Acquisition Centres in Biu and Uba.

Building a Generation of Skilled Entrepreneurs

The week-long training aimed to equip women and youth with the practical skills needed to start and sustain small businesses. With a curriculum focused on business skills development, financial literacy, marketing strategies, and leadership training, the workshop tackled the key challenges faced by aspiring entrepreneurs in rural and urban communities.

Mrs. Hassana Habu, Director of the EYN Women Ministry, highlighted the ministry’s vision during her opening address explained that the goal of the department is to see that efforts were made in leveraging the over dependency of youths on white collar jobs which are a very scares commodity in this generation.

“Our goal is to create awareness and equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to succeed in business. We are committed to empowering women and youth to become financially independent and contribute meaningfully to society.”

Key Objectives of the Entrepreneurship Training

The training covered a variety of high-impact topics, including:

  • Business planning and development

  • Financial management and budgeting

  • Marketing techniques for small businesses

  • Leadership and confidence building

  • Hygiene, modesty in Christian living, and personal dignity

These elements are essential not only for launching startups but also for improving employability, even for those who may not immediately start their own businesses.

Expert Guidance and Practical Sessions

Experienced resource persons and business mentors facilitated the sessions, sharing real-life case studies and strategies for overcoming business challenges in Nigeria’s competitive economy. Participants also engaged in practical exercises designed to simulate real-world business scenarios.

This youth skills development program reflected the EYN Women Ministry’s commitment to holistic empowerment—addressing both economic needs and Christian values in personal development.

Promoting Economic Growth and Self-Reliance
