Women Ministry Remembers Women Who Served and Retired Successfully with Their Husbands after working for the Church in an Interactive Session

In a historic and heartwarming initiative, the EYN Women Ministry organized an interactive workshop to honor and empower women whose husbands served the church faithfully and have now retired. Held in Kwarhi, Hong LGA, Adamawa State, the program brought together selected retired women from the surrounding areas in what became a first-of-its-kind event in the life of the church.

The Director of Women Ministry, Mrs. Hassana Habu, in her welcome address, praised the vital role these women played alongside their husbands in building the church. “Their contributions can enrich both society and the church,” she said. “Our aim is to provide you with entrepreneurship knowledge, community engagement, and spiritual guidance.”

The workshop included key sessions on:

  • Entrepreneurship Training for Retired Workers: Designed to equip the women with practical skills to start and manage small businesses in retirement.

  • Retirees as Role Models: Highlighting how retired women can serve as mentors and community builders, offering wisdom, spiritual maturity, and life experience.

  • Health Talk: Focusing on caring for the body in old age, promoting healthy living among retirees.

  • Business and Financial Management: Teaching participants how to plan effectively for consumption, savings, and investment.

Each participant received a financial support package of ₦20,000 to help kickstart small business ventures or support their personal needs.

The event was met with great appreciation. One participant described it as “a wonderful experience,” expressing joy over the knowledge shared and the recognition given to them. “We went back home very happy,” she said, speaking on behalf of the attendees.

This landmark workshop not only celebrated the legacy of these retired women but also empowered them for continued impact in their communities. The EYN Women Ministry has once again demonstrated a deep commitment to nurturing and uplifting the pillars behind the church’s longstanding ministry efforts.

Hong LGA, Adamawa State – In a groundbreaking initiative, the EYN Women Ministry of has successfully organized a special workshop for selected retired women around the Kwarhi vicinity, whose husbands have faithfully served the church and have now retired. This marks the first of its kind within the denomination, aimed at honoring and empowering these women with the tools and support they need in their post-retirement life.

The event, held today at the Churchs National Headquartersunder the leadership of the EYN Director of Women Ministry, Mrs. Hassana Habu, brought together retired women in a warm and interactive sessions, designed to enrich their lives both spiritually and economically. In her keynote speech, Mrs. Habu emphasized that “their contributions can enrich both society and the church. Our aim is to provide you with entrepreneurship knowledge, community engagement, and spiritual guidance.”

A major highlight of the workshop was the Entrepreneurship Training for Retired Workers, which focused on equipping the participants with essential skills to start and run their own small-scale businesses. Topics included:

  • Retirees as Role Models in Church and Society – Emphasizing the value of wisdom, life experience, and spiritual maturity that retired women bring. Participants were encouraged to embrace roles in mentoring, volunteerism, and community service.

  • Health Talk – Experts discussed the importance of caring for the body in old age, offering practical tips on staying healthy and active.

  • Business and Financial Management – Participants learned how to manage their finances effectively, with focus on planning for consumption, saving, and investment.

To further support the women in applying what they learned, each participant was given a cash grant of ₦20,000 as startup support for their business initiatives.
