Federal Government Digital Breakthrough: NITDA Selects EYN Comprehensive Secondary School for Learning Centre
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has selected EYN Comprehensive Secondary School (CSS) as one of the centres for the establishment of a Digital Learning Centre under the Federal Government’s national digital literacy and inclusion drive.
This was disclosed on Thursday 5th February, 2026, during the EYN Headquarters staff morning devotion by the President of EYN – Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD.
Describing the development as a major breakthrough and an answered prayer, the EYN President expressed profound gratitude to the Federal Government, noting that the project is a clear sign that God is responding to the Church’s prayers for progress and advancement.
“This development is truly an answered prayer. At our EYN Headquarters staff meeting last year, we deliberately committed the future of the Church into God’s hands, praying for forward movement. Today, we are seeing clear evidence that God has heard us,” he said.
Rev. Mbaya further expressed optimism that the Digital Learning Centre, when fully operational, would pave the way for the establishment of a JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre, positioning the Church as a key contributor to national educational development.
The President also shared additional good news, revealing that Brethren Evangelism Support Trust (BEST) has indicated readiness to assist in addressing water challenges by supporting the transition from diesel-powered systems to solar-powered solutions. He further disclosed that politician has donated two solar-powered boreholes, estimated at over ₦100 million, at the proposed Brethren University site in Gombi.
Following the devotion, members of the EYN National Standing Committee (NSC) proceeded to EYN Comprehensive Secondary School to conduct a site survey for the Digital Learning Centre. After assessment, the school library was selected as the preferred location, with two alternative options identified, due to its spaciousness and suitability.
Addressing staff of the school, the EYN President commended their dedication and sacrifices, acknowledging that teachers are often under-appreciated despite the demanding nature of their work. He assured them that the Church recognizes their worth and is counting on them to leave a lasting legacy.
He prayed that teachers would begin to experience their rewards and dividends on earth, countering the long-held notion that “teachers’ rewards are only in heaven,” especially when institutions fail to adequately compensate them.
