EYN President Challenges Leaders to True Servanthood
The retreat opened with a keynote address by the President of EYN, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, who reminded the Nazari fellowship that leadership in God’s house is a sacred calling, not a platform for recognition or personal advantage. He stressed that many misunderstand leadership, seeing it as power, whereas Scripture teaches that true leadership is rooted in humility, sacrifice, and sincere service to others.

“A leader must put others first and remain aligned with God’s will,” he emphasized, urging the newly elected officers to lead with integrity, accountability, and spiritual maturity.
In his message, Rev. Mbaya also warned the group to remain spiritually alert, especially in the area of music ministry where subtle moral and spiritual compromise can easily enter if leaders are not watchful.
