The funeral service of Late Mrs. Esther Edison, born in 1975 and passed away on October 16, 2025, was held at her hometown, Pilefu, in a solemn yet faith-filled atmosphere. Family members, friends, and church leaders gathered to celebrate her life and unwavering faith in God.

Bringing words of comfort, Rev. Yakubu M. Chagwa, DCC Gashala Chairman, described the gathering as “a moment of joy,” noting that their late sister has gone to be with the Lord. He reminded the congregation that “anyone who desires to see God must be willing to live in ways that please the Almighty.”
Testimonies from family and friends portrayed Mrs. Esther Edison as a patient, humble, and hospitable woman who touched many lives with her kindness and service. Before her passing, she served faithfully alongside her husband in LCC Kidilindla.

Delivering the sermon, Rev. Bitrus Kabu, DCC Secretary, Mishara, spoke on the theme of life as a divine trust from God. He illustrated this with a powerful analogy:
“If you are given something precious to keep and you destroy it, what will you say when the owner comes for it? Our lives are that precious item—entrusted to us by God to be kept faithfully.”
He challenged the congregation to reflect on their spiritual lives, asking:
“Who have you invited into your life? Is God your leader? In your daily dealings, do you put Him first?”
Rev. Kabu urged everyone to repent, turn back to God, and live with a sense of readiness, reminding them that “now is the time to set our affairs right with God.”
In his message of consolation, EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, acknowledged the mystery of death, saying:
“We are professors in teaching about death, but when it happens to us, we cannot understand. The only help we can get is from the Word of God. For me, life is Christ, but death in Christ is gain.”
He encouraged the family to take comfort in the assurance that Mrs. Esther Edison, though she faced many challenges in life, has now entered a place of rest and glory with Christ.

He added that death may seem like a hope killer and relationship breaker, but for those who die in Christ, it is the beginning of eternal joy. He urged believers to be comforted by the assurance that Mrs. Esther Edison now rests in the Lord with a new body in Christ.
The service was attended by EYN NSC members, many pastors and their wives, and church members who came to pay their last respects to a woman remembered for her humility, patience, and faithfulness.
Late Mrs. Esther Edison is survived by her husband, Rev. Edison S. Ulea, and six children: Genesis Edison, Robert Edison, Hyellabala Edison, Philemon Edison, Solomon Edison, and Regina Edison.
