Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have abducted two persons, believed to be a Christian husband and wife, while working on their farm in Dubunkwa, a settlement in Mussa community of Borno State.

According to local sources, the attackers stormed the farm and whisked the couple away to an unknown destination. The victims, who are Christians and married to each other, had not been officially identified as of the time of filing this report, and their names were yet to be ascertained.

The latest incident comes amid growing concerns over persistent attacks on communities in southern Borno. Residents say the abduction has further heightened fears among farmers and villagers already living under the threat of insurgent violence.

The incident also recalls the abduction of 42 children from communities in the area, an attack that drew widespread concern and renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect vulnerable populations. Community leaders and residents have continued to urge the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the release of those in captivity and prevent further attacks.

As of the time of this report, security authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the latest abduction.

Further details, including the identities of the victims, will be provided as more information becomes available.

Editor’s Note: If the kidnapping of the 42 children occurred at a specific time or location and you would like that included, I can incorporate those details to make the background section more precise.
