New Director of ZME, Mrs. Martha D. David, Shares Her Vision and Challenges, prays for more support from the Leadership

Kwarhi, Nigeria — Mrs. Martha D. David, the newly elected Director of the women Fellowship also known in Hausa as Zumuntar Matan Ekklesiyar (ZME), has begun her leadership journey with clarity, purpose, and a spirit of service.

Elected during the 62nd ZME National Convention held from March 26–29, alongside Mrs. Na’omi Philemond, Deputy Director, from Mubi Zone, Mrs. Ziporah Sunday, Treasurer from Mubi Zone, Mrs. Grace Jesse, Financial Secretary from Uba Zone, Mrs. Grace Ezekiel, Secretary from Michika zone and Mrs. Esther Peter, Choir Mistress from Michika zone, Mrs. David who took the mantle of leadership from Mrs. Suzan Mark, is now in her second month in office and has already begun to shape the ministry’s future through decisive action and meaningful engagement.

As part of her early roles, Mrs. David recently hosted her first official national course, an event that brought together women from across the denomination for training, spiritual growth, and strategic alignment.

The course brought together ZME leaders and members for a time of reflection, learning, and vision casting. Sessions included leadership development, ministry effectiveness, and communication strategies. Participants also had the opportunity to interact directly with the Director, share feedback, and align on the ministry’s direction moving forward.

Smooth Transition and Encouraging Start

Reflecting on her experience so far, Mrs. David expressed gratitude for the warm reception she received from both the EYN leadership and the ZME executive team. She commended the passion and commitment of the women she now leads, calling them key to the ministry’s success.

“I am thrilled to be part of this team and contribute to the growth and development of ZME. The dedication I’ve seen is deeply encouraging,” she stated.

Early Observations: Key Challenges Identified

Upon assuming office, Mrs. David quickly identified some critical challenges facing the ministry. Chief among them are:

• Communication Breakdown: Ineffective channels of communication within and across ZME structures.
• Low Awareness of National Programs: Limited publicity and understanding of ZME’s national events and initiatives among members.

In response, she emphasized the importance of strengthening spiritual bonds and promoting intentional collaboration rooted in Christ.

“We must build stronger relationships with one another in Christ and uphold the fear of God in our work. I will do my best to ensure ZME does not go backwards in my tenure,” she said.

Strategic Plans for Growth and Development

Mrs. David has laid out an ambitious but achievable vision for ZME’s growth. Her administration will prioritize:

• Community Outreach Programs: Designing targeted outreach efforts to engage and uplift local communities through evangelism, education, and support services.
• Capacity Building: Offering training and professional development opportunities to equip women for leadership roles both within the Church and in society.
• Partnerships and Collaborations: Fostering meaningful collaborations with Christian organizations, NGOs, and government agencies to maximize impact.

These efforts reflect her desire to see ZME operate as a dynamic, impactful arm of the EYN Church, committed to both spiritual maturity and social responsibility.

A Vision for the Future

With just two months in office, Mrs. David has already demonstrated proactive leadership and spiritual clarity. Her focus on unity, accountability, and empowerment has inspired hope and enthusiasm within the ZME community.

“Together, we will walk in faith, build in love, and serve with excellence. ZME is destined to rise,” she declared confidently.

As the ministry looks ahead, members are hopeful that under her guidance, ZME will continue to grow as a beacon of light in the Church and beyond.
