Who Is Christ? EYN LCC Mado Celebrates Nine Lessons and Christmas Carols in Grand Style
The EYN LCC Mado Local Church Council hosted a spiritually enriching Nine Lessons and Christmas Carols celebration on December 14, 2025, drawing together church members, families, friends, and well-wishers in a joyful remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Held under the thought-provoking theme “Who Is Christ?”, the event offered worshippers a deeper reflection on God’s love for humanity and the true essence of Christmas beyond festivities.
Powerful Message on the Identity of Christ
The guest preacher, Mr. Kefas Briston, a student pastor of Jos Evangelical Technological College (JETC), delivered a compelling sermon titled “Who Is Christ?”, anchored on Colossians 1:15–20.
He described Christ as the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, and the head of the Church, emphasizing Christ’s supreme authority, redemptive power, and central role in the believer’s life.
Call to Christlike Living
In his exhortation, the leading reverend, Rev. Joal Ali, encouraged members to model their lives after Christ and resist worldly patterns that contradict Christian values. He reminded the congregation that Christmas is not only a celebration, but a call to live out Christ’s character in love, humility, and obedience.
Worship, Fellowship, and Festive Joy
The EYN Nine Lessons and Christmas Carols service was marked by vibrant songs, dancing, scripture readings, competitions, and games, creating an atmosphere of unity and celebration.
Children and adults alike received gifts, reinforcing the spirit of giving that defines the Christmas season. A surprise appearance by Father Christmas brought excitement and laughter, especially among the children, adding colour and warmth to the celebration.
Celebrating the True Meaning of Christmas
The event stood as a powerful reminder that Christmas is about Christ’s love, hope, and salvation, not merely pageantry. Through worship, teaching, and fellowship, EYN LCC Mado reaffirmed its commitment to keeping Christ at the centre of the season.
